Teaching aims:
Knowledge aim:
Students will be able to read, recognize, and use these words: meat, hot dog, cheese, hamburger and so on. And the sentence structure: “what do you want to…? I want to…”
Ability aim:
Students can use sing the chant and read the dialogue correctly and smoothly.
Emotional aim:
Students can take in the role play and classroom activities.
Key points and difficult points:
Key points: Students can master the pronunciation and the meaning of the new words and can master the usage the sentence.
Difficult points: Students can master the usage of the new sentence “what do you want to…? I want to…”
Teaching Aids: Video, pictures, PPT.
Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Warming up
1. show the picture of some food and ask students like this:
“What do you want to eat?”
2. Free talk
Let students talk about their favorite food and invite students to share their opinion with their classmates.
S1: What do you want to eat?
S2: I want to eat…
Step 2 Presentation
1. Sing the chant
Play the video and ask students to sing after the video, students will sing the chant together. Then ask some students to sing the chant in the front of the classroom.
2. Listen and read the dialogue
Play the radio, and then ask students to read the dialogue and underline the new words. Then, show the pictures of the food and guide students to guess the meaning of the new words. Finally, ask some students to role play the dialogue.
Step 3 Consolidation
1. Ask and answer.
Let students make dialogue with their partners and present the new sentence pattern to stimulate the students’ interest of the lesson. They can do it with the following pattern:
What do you want to eat? I want to eat…
2. Write
Ask students: “what do you want to eat?”Let students describe their opinion by using the sentence “I want to eat…” and write it on the note book. Then I will invite students to write their answers on the blackboard, and ask others to check it together.
Summary and homework
1. Ask students to read the words and sentences to end this class.
2. Try to make a dialogue and write down the new sentences on the note book.
